The People First Food Pantry of Uxbridge needs your support! Due to the economy, the food pantry has seen a dramatic increase in the number of families it serves. The food pantry has had to ration the amount of food given out due to low donations and the increase in services. The food pantry has served 873 people from January-April 2010, That is an increase of 20% as compared to the same time period in 2009. With an average of 218 people visiting the food pantry monthly, it is a struggle to keep the shelves stocked. Of the 873 people served this year, 266 are children. Most of these children receive free or reduced school breakfast/lunch during the school year, but during the summer their parents struggle to provide their kids with healthy, nutritious food. Summertime is also the slowest time for donations. Please support these families who are our neighbors in need. Donations can be dropped off on Wednesdays prior to either shift. Shift hours are 11-1 and 6:30 - 8. We ask that donations are not dropped off during open hours, as we need to protect the privacy of our families.
