· TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) - http://www.tesol.org/s_tesol/index.asp Founded in 1966, TESOL is a global education association. This is an excellent source for position papers and bibliographies.

· MATSOL (Massachusetts Association of Teachers of Speakers of Other Languages) -http://www.matsol.org/ MATSOL is a research-based professional association representing over 1,200 educators.

Help for Schools: The English Language Learner Base - http://www.helpforschools.com/ELLKBase/index.shtml Base Excellent resources that range from the legal aspects concerning LEP students and programs, the identification and assessment of LEP students and development of policies and procedures for professional development. The site also provides useful links to websites that focus on ELL issues.

CAL (Center for Applied Linguistics) - http://www.cal.org/ CAL is a private, non-profit organization employing a group of scholars and educators who use the findings of research in linguistics and related sciences to identify and address language-related issues in schools. CAL carries out a wide range of activities including research, teacher education, analysis and dissemination of information, design and development of instructional materials, technical assistance, conference planning, program evaluation, and policy analysis.

The Center for Research, Education, Diversity, and Excellence - http://crede.berkeley.edu/ CREDE is a federally funded research and development program focused on improving the education of students whose ability to reach their potential is challenged by language or cultural barriers, race, geographic location, or poverty.

The Equity Assistance Center - http://www.lab.brown.edu/ The mission of the New England Equity Assistance Center (EAC) is to enable school districts to ensure equal access in the provision of educational programs and services for all children.
