The Taft Elementary School has a current
enrollment of 620 students in grades one through four. We
currently have 9 grade one classrooms, 8 second grade classrooms,
8 third grade classrooms and 7 grade 4 classrooms. The school day
at Taft runs from 8:35 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.

Taft School produces a monthly newsletter to keep parents informed
and up to date about important school information as well as
upcoming events and activities. The newsletter is sent home with
students on the first of each month.
Opening day for students at Taft School is August 27, 2007
All grade 1 students beginning school at Taft
this year will be receiving a color-coded bus tag through the mail
as well as their school lunch PIN number. The students will have
the same PIN number for their four years at Taft. Students should
try to memorize their PIN numbers. Each tag represents which
classroom they will be in. Your child should wear their bus tag
for the first two weeks of school. Grade 1 teachers will meet
their students outside of the school for the first few days of
school and walk the children to their classroom.
