Principal’s Message...
The Home Depot has as its motto, “You can do it, we can help.” In
reflection, I cannot think of a better way of expressing my
thoughts to the team approach that our staff has when working with
the students of Whitin Middle School. If you are new to Whitin,
you will quickly learn that our staff members are professionals
and are committed to being the best they can be for both you and
your child. One of the ways you can assist our staff is by
continuing to support our school and staying involved in your
child’s life.
Throughout the school year we will often remind students that a
positive attitude, putting forth their individual best effort, and
showing respect for others and themselves, are essential to being
successful at Whitin. We believe that these goals will help
students grow and feel safe as they navigate through the middle
level years. Your support of these goals is appreciated.
Someone once said to me that raising a child is like holding a
piece of soap. Squeeze too hard and too much, and they pop out of
your hand. Hold on too loosely, and they fall out from under you.
Needless to say, raising children during the middle years is both
rewarding and challenging and often poses the greatest difficulty
for kids who are not yet adults. We stand with you. Our staff is
skilled at middle level education. We trust that at the end of
your child’s middle level years, we were one of the many who stood
beside you in helping to keep “the soap” from getting away.
As the new Principal of the Whitin Middle School I have received
many positive affirmations from the Uxbridge community in support
of my new role and I thank them. As I move forward in my new role,
I am reminded that “Coming together is a beginning, staying
together is progress and working together is success.” (Henry
Ford) I thank Mr. Stefanilo, Dr. Howard Boyaj, and the Whitin
Staff for their support of me and I wish Amy Mayer the best in her
new role as Assistant Principal. Together with your support, we
will make a lasting difference for the students in Uxbridge.
If there is anything I can assist you with, please feel free to
contact the Whitin office.
Best to you,
Ronald J. Farrar
