Lice

  • The Uxbridge Public Schools follows the recommendations given by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the National Association of School Nurses (NASN), the Center for Disease Control (CDC), and the Department of Public Health regarding lice and how to handle lice in school.

    • The teacher will send any student they suspect has lice to the school nurse for examination.
    • If a student is found to have nits or live lice the parents will be notified.
    • If one child is found to have lice in a classroom the whole class will then be checked and a note will be sent  home informing parents of the presence of lice in the classroom.
