I hope you are all staying healthy and active. The Taft staff is working hard on remote learning and balancing what is too much and too little. Please continue to reach out to teachers or myself if you are in need of technology. Though the building is closed, learning continues. As a staff, we will also be working on professional development, curriculum mapping, and end of the year activities such as placement. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns!

    Taft Update 3/20

Consistency is critical in times like these, especially for our little ones. Please speak with your families to talk about continuing routines and putting predictable schedules in place. Though not the same as attending school, developing a schedule that includes experiences around academics, well balanced meals, physical movement, and rest are important.

    Taft Update 3/18

Over the past several days, there have been many messages updating families and staff with respect to the evolving situation and COVID-19. We know that, as we move into uncharted territory with school closed for the next three weeks, this can feel overwhelming. We hope that the detailed information below will help students and parents navigate the next couple of weeks and reduce those feelings of anxiety.

    Taft Update 3/17

Thank you all for your patience and support during these unprecedented times. As you can imagine, these past few days have been challenging. We are working toward better solutions that will support our students, staff, and families during this time - as part of one of our many calls with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, one of the points made was providing resources for students to remain engaged in learning. Among other things, this is one of the many things we have begun addressing with our staff.

Just as your child’s report card shows how they are doing in different subjects, the school’s report card is designed to show families how our school is doing in different areas. A link to our school’s report card is available at http://reportcards.doe.mass.edu/2019/03040005.
