Uxbridge Superintendent Search Committee - 3 Finalists
The Uxbridge Superintendent Search Committee first convened on Saturday, March 27 for training in Open Meeting Law, ethics, confidentiality, and for review of the process. They then spent the weekend reviewing the confidential applications received.
Eighteen applications for the position were received. On Monday, March 1, the Search Committee met in executive session to deliberate the selection of semi-finalists to invite for interviews.
Seven semi-finalists were interviewed in executive sessions on Wednesday, March 3; Thursday, March 4; and Wednesday, March 10. The Search Committee then deliberated on the selection of finalists to forward to the Uxbridge School Committee for their consideration.
The slate of three finalists are as follows:
Douglas Dias, Ed.D.: Dr. Dias currently serves as the Director of STEM for the Malden Public Schools. Previously, Dr. Dias has served as the superintendent of the Mount Greylock/Lanesborough/SAU 71 Public Schools; as a principal in Medway and Canton; as assistant principal in Westborough and Holliston. Dr. Dias began his public education career as a physics/engineering/mathematics teacher at Lincoln-Sudbury High School. He holds a Doctorate in Educational Administration from the Lynch School of Education at Boston College; a Master of Education in Educational Administration from the University of Massachusetts Boston; a Master of Science in Teaching from Boston College; and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
Patrick Dillon, Ed.D.: Dr. Dillon currently serves as the Chief Human Resource Officer in the Duxbury Public Schools. Previously, Dr. Dillon has served as the Assistant Superintendent in the Whitman-Hanson Regional School District; and as a principal and assistant principal in the Falmouth Public Schools. He began his career in public education as a math teacher in the Mashpee Public Schools, having served in a number of positions in corporate leadership prior to teaching. Dr. Dillon also currently serves as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Coast Guard Reserves, having served in a number of roles since his service with the United States Marine Corps. Dr. Dillon has served as a Senior Executive Fellow at the Kennedy School at Harvard University. Dr. Dillion holds a Doctorate of Education in Leadership from Northeastern University; a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the National Intelligence University; a Master of Science in Criminal Justice Studies from Florida State University; a Master of Science in Administration from St. Michael’s College; and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire.
John Gould, Ed.D.: Dr. Gould currently serves as the principal of Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School. Dr. Gould has previously served as the principal of Dartmouth High School; an assistant principal in the King Philip Regional School District; a dean of students in the Groton-Dunstable Public Schools; the chair of social studies in the Dedham Public Schools; and a high school social studies teacher in the Quaboag Public Schools. He began his career in public education as a geography teacher in the Hull Public Schools. Dr. Gould holds a Doctorate of Education from Northeastern University; a Master of Arts in History from Providence College; a Master of Education from the University of Lowell; and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Northeastern University.
