To the Uxbridge Community,

Many of you are aware that six of our seven School Committee members have resigned from their posts in recent days. 

I understand that such an unusual situation can prompt more questions than answers, and so I want to update you as best I can.

First and foremost, this will ultimately have no impact on our students or staff. The work of providing a top-tier education to Uxbridge’s students is and will remain our top priority. Our educators will continue that work unabated. 

We aspire to be transparent and forthcoming with the community in all of our work. To that end, we will be commissioning an independent third-party review of the facts and circumstances that led to this moment. We intend to share the findings of that review with the community upon its completion. 

Our hope is that this review will not only lead to a better understanding of the circumstances resulting in this level of turnover on the committee but will provide some critical insight into what the Uxbridge Public Schools are doing well and where we may improve as an organization.
