Weekly News and Notes, September 22

Here's an update from UHS for this week

Weekly Recap

Happy Friday! As the week comes to a close, we have a few updates from UHS to share.

Homecoming Next Week!
Our Student Council has been hard at work planning another exciting Homecoming Week. The dress-up days for Spirit Week have been shared with students, and the Homecoming Dance will take place next Saturday, September 30, from 7-10 p.m. Tickets are on sale during lunches, and guest forms for students who are not from UHS will be available and must be turned in by Wednesday. Tickets are $10 and will not be sold at the door.
On Friday night, our football team will host Worcester South, with field hockey, boys soccer, and girls soccer all competing on Saturday.

PSAT Grades 10-11

Our juniors and sophomores will be taking the PSAT on October 11, 2023. During the PSAT window, from 7:30-10:30, our 8th and 9th graders will be doing some work with our school counselors. The seniors will have the day as a career and college exploration day, which has been our practice for the past several years. We understand that some seniors will still come to school.
On that same day, we will be hosting Congressman Jim McGovern as part of the National Association of Secondary Schools Principals' "Shadow a School Leader" Day. We are grateful for his willingness to engage us as part of National Principals' Month!

School Council
Our UHS School Council will host its first meeting of the school year on Thursday, September 28. The meeting will be virtual to accommodate several busy schedules.

Have a great weekend!
