Whitin Weekly May 8th

Dear Whitin Families,

The following is the update for the week of May 8, 2022

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our Whitin mothers.  We hope you have an enjoyable and peaceful day and know how much you are appreciated.

MCAS: Math MCAS is this week.  Students will be taking the assessment on Tuesday and Thursday of this week.  It is important that students are in school on time during testing days and that they get a good night's sleep and have a healthy, nutritious breakfast.

Students are also reminded to bring a water bottle full of water only.  They are also allowed to have a nut-free, dry snack as well as gum or hard candy (mints or jolly ranchers). No other food or candy will be allowed.

It is also important that Chromebooks are fully charged for testing.  We appreciate parents' assistance with reminding your child to charge their Chromebook the night before testing.

Whitin PTO:

Thank you to the PTO for hosting our annual Teacher Appreciation Luncheon this past Friday.  It was a wonderful afternoon celebrating the hard work of our teachers and staff.

The PTO will be working with the PE teachers on field day and the 7th grade send off.  PTO will be looking for volunteers to help with both events.  Be on the lookout for more information and how you can help.

Hey parents! We are happy to announce our partnership with 1st Day School Supplies. If there were ever a year to order your school supplies early, this is it! No longer is purchasing a back-to-school supply kit a luxury, it is a necessity. With all the supply chain issues it is a great way to order back-to-school supplies for next year. 1st Day School Supplies is so convenient, easy and hassle free! Plus, they have guaranteed our school the impossible to find and highest quality brands like Ticonderoga, Crayola, Elmers, Fiskars, Purell and Clorox.

Order today before it’s too late! https://1stdayschoolsupplies.com/kits.php?sid=50637

*Please note: The fourth grade supply box list is just a general kit. The fourth grade classrooms are self contained. Each teacher will send out their own school supply list at the start of the new school year however, these items in the fourth grade supply kit are on all of the lists that the teachers will be sending out. By purchasing the kit you will only have a few remaining items you may need to grab at the start of the school year.

Reminders:

Bussing: Please note if a bus has not arrived at the bus stop within 15-20 min of pick up time especially after a storm seek alternative transportation if possible and let the school know.
