Whitin Weekly June 2

Dear Whitin Families,

I had the pleasure of attending the Uxbridge High School 2019 Graduation ceremonies today.  It was a great afternoon honoring the graduating class of 2019. We wish them luck in the next chapter of their lives.  Before we know it, our Whitin Warriors will be graduating from high school.

It is hard to believe we enter into the last two weeks of the school year.  A reminder that our last day of school is Monday, June 17th which is a half-day of school.  Dismissal is at 10:40

As we end the 2018/2019 school year, the administrators are hard a work preparing for the 2019/2020 school year.  Mr. Irvine and I along with faculty and staff will be working over the next few weeks to place students into classes for the coming school year.  Please note, teacher placements will not be on the student’s trimester three report cards. Teacher placement will be distributed to families in August.  This includes teacher placements for 4th and 5th grade as well as schedules for 6th and 7th graders.

Whitin Yearbooks:

There are still yearbooks available for purchase if you have not ordered one already.  I was able to preview the final product and they are fabulous. Please contact Ms. Roche in the library (groche@uxbridge.k12.ma.us) if you are interested in purchasing a yearbook.

Whitin PTO News

We moved the time for the last PTO meeting to 3:30pm on Wednesday, June 12th.

The Whitin PTO is looking for new members to join the board. We need your help in filling the Treasure position.  The PTO sponsors many events throughout the year which benefit all the students. Without the help of volunteers these events are not possible.  Being a part of the board requires one meeting per month and any help you can provided in planning, organizing and attending events throughout the year.  Email Bethann Lafontaine if you are interested in joining the board next year. blafontaine24@icloud.com

7th grade Send-Off BBQ

We are looking for a few volunteers to help us out at the 7th Grade Send off BBQ. If you are interested in signing up sign up here. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0B49AEA62BA0FD0-7thgrade

Walkers and Pickups

I ask for your help in reminding your children to be respectful of the school grounds as well as the neighbors’ yards.  There are many students who are walking on the neighbor’s lawns and not respecting their property. Students who are picked up from school should be reminded to stay on the sidewalk even as they pass the school grounds.  I thank you for your help in this matter.
