Whitin Weekly June 9th

Dear Whitin Families,

We made it to the last week of school.  This week we will be hosting fied day on Monday and Tuesday and sending the 7th graders off on Friday with a whole school assembly and 7th grade BBQ.

As we wrap up this school year I want to take a moment to thank the Whitin families for trusting your child’s education to myself and the entire Whitin staff.  It has been such a pleasure to get to know the families and see smiling faces each and every day. I am so lucky to be able to do what I do each day and share my passion for learning with your children.  I look forward to a restful and enjoyable summer before starting year two as WIS!

A reminder that our last day of school is Monday, June 17th which is a half-day of school.  Dismissal is at 10:40

As we end the 2018/2019 school year, the administrators are hard a work preparing for the 2019/2020 school year.  Mr. Irvine and I along with faculty and staff will be working over the next few weeks to place students into classes for the coming school year.  Please note, teacher placements will not be on the student’s trimester three report cards. Teacher placement will be distributed to families in August.  This includes teacher placements for 4th and 5th grade as well as schedules for 6th and 7th graders.

Notes from the Nurse

As you know, the last day of the school year is rapidly approaching. It is the school’s policy to notify parents/guardians of students who have medication(s) at school to make arrangements to pick up the student’s medication by the last day of school. Medications will not be available to be picked up after the last day of school.

Medications may be picked up Monday-Friday anytime from 7:20-2:15pm at Whitin. On the last day of school medications must be picked up by 10:45am.

If you would like your child to bring the mediation home and assume responsibility for the safe transportation of the medication please email or call to arrange.

Whitin Yearbooks:

There are still yearbooks available for purchase if you have not ordered one already.  I was able to preview the final product and they are fabulous. Please contact Ms. Roche in the library (groche@uxbridge.k12.ma.us) if you are interested in purchasing a yearbook.

Whitin PTO News

We moved the time for the last PTO meeting to 3:30pm on Wednesday, June 12th.

The Whitin PTO is looking for new members to join the board. We need your help in filling the Treasure position.  The PTO sponsors many events throughout the year which benefit all the students. Without the help of volunteers these events are not possible.  Being a part of the board requires one meeting per month and any help you can provided in planning, organizing and attending events throughout the year.  Email Bethann Lafontaine if you are interested in joining the board next year. blafontaine24@icloud.com
