SUPERINTENDENT'S WELCOME MESSAGE

2024 - 2025

Dear Families and Staff:

For most students, summer vacation ends, and the next school year begins. Then, there are parents and caregivers for whom their babies' first day of school is here. For children, it is exciting to think about what lies ahead – reconnecting with friends, making new ones, being with their teachers, and playing on a newly enhanced playground!  As I begin my third year with you, I share our kids' excitement.

Over the last two years, I have seen the fantastic work of our faculty and staff. Together, we have focused on the conditions in which they meet the needs of our students.  At the same time, we have continuously homed in on the conditions under which our children are learning.  I feel so fortunate to have had time to get to know our faculty, staff, and students, and I know that 2024 – 2025 will be a special year for all of us. 

Our focus this year is clear: we are committed to fostering a cohesive school culture that prioritizes the safety and wellness of our students in every aspect—emotionally, physically, and socially. We believe that a safe and supportive environment is the foundation for all learning. We are now building upon our efforts to ensure that every student feels secure, valued, and empowered to succeed.

In tandem with our focus on wellness, we are also amidst a wholehearted effort to bolster student achievement. Our goal is not only to meet academic standards but to exceed them by finding creative and engaging ways to keep our students motivated and involved in their pro-social development and learning. We understand that true academic success is not just about grades or test scores; it’s about cultivating a love of learning and developing the skills and relationships to serve our students well beyond their time in the Uxbridge Public Schools.

Central to our approach is cultivating solid and developmental relationships between our students and their amazing staff. We believe that when students feel connected to their teachers, coaches, and mentors, they are more likely to thrive in all areas of their lives. These relationships are at the heart of our work, and we are committed to nurturing them as we move forward.

In the Spring of 2024, I learned how much support our schools have in our community when over 1,000 of you attended our Special Town Meeting and supported our mission.   I request your partnership in this mission as we start this new school year. Together, let’s devote all our attention to ensuring our students' wellness, academic achievement, and active engagement. Your support is invaluable, and I am grateful to be part of such a caring and committed community.
