  • SUPERINTENDENT'S WELCOME MESSAGE

    2024 - 2025

  • September, 2024

    Dear Families and Staff:

Welcome to the Uxbridge Public Schools website. Now, in my third year as your Superintendent, I am thrilled to share with you the exciting developments and ongoing efforts within our district.  We have a lot to be proud of, but still much to do as we continue to perfect our school system for you and our students.

    Our Commitment to Excellence

We live in a fast-paced world in which political, technological, and economic changes are happening faster and faster.  Because of this, we must provide a high-quality education system that prepares our students for the world they will live in. To do this, we focus on three key areas:

    Boosting Achievement

We are proud to report substantial growth in our MCAS scores, particularly in mathematics. From 2021 to 2024, we have seen significant improvements across grade levels, especially among economically disadvantaged and disabled students. These gains reflect our commitment to academic excellence and our efforts to support all learners.  These gains are also only the beginning because we are on track to improve the academic performance of all our students in every subject that we teach.

    Increasing Wellness

We recognize the importance of creating a supportive and nurturing environment for our students. This year, we are implementing a district-wide initiative to improve the learning environment through Therapeutic Crisis Intervention for Schools (TCIS). This research-based program will enhance our staff and turn potentially stressful circumstances into learning experiences for our students.

    Engaging Our Students

We know that solid relationships are the foundation of student success. Our staff is committed to building meaningful connections with students and their families, creating an environment where students feel seen, heard, and valued.

    Modernizing and Improving Our District

We are continuously working to modernize and improve your schools to meet the evolving needs of our students and community.  Building 21st Century Skills will call upon our instruction and communication using 21st-century tools.  To be successful, collaboration among a consistent faculty and staff is key.

    Stable Leadership

We are excited to have a consistent leadership team across our schools and central office. This stability allows us to focus on our core mission of supporting students and families.

    Technology Integration

We have welcomed a new Director of Technology to help us innovate and modernize our systems and ensure our students can access the tools they need for 21st-century learning.  Parents will notice much better, real-time communication and more information available via ParentSquare and PowerSchool.

    Financial Stewardship

Our new Director of Finance and Operations will help us optimize our resources and provide our students with the best possible educational experience.  We are committed to a transparent budget process as we look forward to Fiscal Year 2026.  The work of developing our next budget starts now.

A Culture of Consistency and Care

We strive to create a consistent and caring environment where students can take risks, learn from mistakes, and grow. Our educators are dedicated to providing a stable, predictable space that maximizes student potential.  We are hyper-focused on the ecology of our schools and recognize our schools as the place where our students will learn and grow academically, physically, and socially.

I am deeply committed to working with all stakeholders in fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and compassion. I invite you to explore our website and learn more about the exciting opportunities available in the Uxbridge Public Schools.

    Sincerely,

    Michael R. Baldassarre, Ed.D.
