The ultimate goal of the mathematics department is to develop the mathematical skills necessary for each student to extend his/her experiences in mathematics to applications in other areas of life. In order to reach this goal, we strive to make each student mathematically literate and to develop the ability to think logically. Opportunities for discovery and creativity will be provided at each student’s level of ability, thus increasing favorable attitudes toward mathematics. Career information using mathematical knowledge as well as the understanding of the importance of mathematics in their futures will be made available to the students.
