A Message to the Uxbridge Community

Dear Uxbridge Community,

With heavy hearts, we extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Officer Stephen LaPorta and Uxbridge Police and Fire Departments.

Officer LaPorta gave his life in service to our community, responding to help a neighbor in need on a difficult day. His dedication and selflessness reflect the very best of those who protect us.

Our schools and Uxbridge Public Safety share a profound commitment to the safety and well-being of Uxbridge's children and families. We grieve alongside them.

In honor of Officer LaPorta, blue ribbons have been placed throughout our schools and district buildings. The sign at Taft Early Learning Center reads, "Thank you for your service, Badge 31." These tributes represent our community's collective gratitude for his service and sacrifice.
