RE:                  Significant Winter Storm – Monday, February 23, 2026 School Status

Dear Uxbridge Public Schools Families, Staff, and Community Members,

I am reaching out today to alert our community to a significant winter storm expected to impact Uxbridge beginning Sunday evening and continuing through Monday afternoon.

As of 7:55 a.m. this morning, the National Weather Service – Boston/Norton has issued a High Impact Storm advisory forecasting 12–18 inches of snowfall, snowfall rates of 2+ inches per hour, northeast wind gusts of 40–60 mph, and the potential for power outages across our region. You can view the NWS forecast graphic here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/14Q28s39TH_36wmblu-sdWH1hTffgXju1/view?usp=sharing

Based on the current forecast, it is highly likely that Uxbridge Public Schools will be CLOSED on Monday, February 23, 2026. I will make a final determination and communicate an official decision no later than Sunday evening.

If school is closed:

  • All school buildings will be closed.
  • All school activities, extracurricular programs, and athletics will be cancelled.
  • Child Care will not be in operation.

Please plan accordingly and take time this weekend to prepare for the storm and potential power outages. The safety of our school community is always my top priority.

I will be in touch Sunday evening with a final update. Thank you for your patience and partnership.

Stay safe,

David Ljungberg
