Thank You to Our Incredible Staff and Happy Mother's Day

Dear Uxbridge Community:
As Teacher Appreciation Week comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to write to you, our families and community members, because you deserve to know just how remarkable the people who serve your children every day truly are.
Every morning, something quietly extraordinary happens across Taft Early Learning Center, Whitin Intermediate School, and Uxbridge High School. Our teachers open their doors and their hearts, ready to meet every child exactly where they are. Our paraeducators provide patient, skilled support that makes inclusion and access real for students who need it most. Our cafeteria workers make sure every child is fed and welcomed with a smile. Our custodians and facilities staff work tirelessly, often before dawn and long after dismissal to keep our buildings safe, clean, and ready. Our technology team keeps the tools of modern learning running so that instruction never misses a beat. Our nurses, counselors, and specialists attend to the whole child, making sure students are healthy, supported, and ready to learn. Our administrative support staff are the backbone of our school offices, ensuring that families are heard and that the day runs smoothly. And our building and district administrators lead with wisdom, care, and an unwavering commitment to doing right by kids.
These are your neighbors. Your friends. Members of this community. And they show up every single day for over 1,600 Uxbridge students.
I know that the relationship between a school district and its community is built one interaction at a time. It is built in the hallway conversation with a teacher, the note home from a counselor, the custodian who holds the door and says good morning. It is built on trust, and that trust is earned every day by the professionals who make up Uxbridge Public Schools.
If you have a moment this weekend, I encourage you to reach out to a teacher, a coach, a school secretary, a paraeducator, or any staff member who has made a difference for your child or your family. A kind word goes a very long way.
On behalf of the Uxbridge School Committee and the entire district, thank you for the confidence you place in us. We do not take it lightly.
And to all of the mothers in our community, the moms who pack the lunches, attend the concerts, cheer at the games, advocate at the IEP meetings, and hold everything together; Happy Mother's Day. We see you, and we are grateful for you.
Wishing everyone a warm and restful weekend.
With appreciation,
Dave Ljungberg, Superintendent
Uxbridge Public Schools
