Re: Share Your Voice: Uxbridge Master Plan Community Survey Closes October 31, 2026

Dear Uxbridge Public Schools Community,

The Town of Uxbridge is developing a new Master Plan and wants to hear from you. Our town's last Master Plan dates back to 1992, so this is an important opportunity to help shape Uxbridge's future for the next ten to twenty years.

What is a Master Plan?

A Master Plan, sometimes called a comprehensive plan, is a long-range strategic roadmap that reflects a community's vision and values. Required under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 41, Section 81D, it helps guide local officials as they make decisions about zoning, budgets, and capital improvements. The plan covers seven key areas: land use; population and housing; economic development; transportation and circulation; cultural and historic resources; open space, recreation, and natural resources; and town services and facilities. The Town is partnering with the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC) on this work.

Why this matters for our schools and families

Decisions about housing, growth, transportation, town facilities, and recreation all directly affect our students, our schools, and the families we serve. As part of the process, CMRPC will be conducting site visits to town facilities and schools, and outreach to students is planned for this winter. The perspectives of parents, caregivers, and school employees are an essential part of getting this plan right.

Other ways to stay involved

The Town will host community roundtable events on specific topics throughout the fall and winter. The first, focused on housing, is planned for Thursday, October 15, at 7:00 p.m. at Town Hall, with a hybrid option available. The Master Plan Steering Committee also meets on the second Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. on Zoom.
