A Message to the Uxbridge Public Schools Community
Dear Uxbridge Public Schools Families, Faculty, and Staff:
It is with profound sadness that I share that our school community has lost a student at Uxbridge High School following a single-vehicle crash on Saturday evening. As shared in the Uxbridge Police Department's public press release, the student's identity is not being released at this time out of respect for the family's privacy. We ask that our community extend that same respect and care to the family during this incredibly difficult time.
Our district crisis response team has been activated, and we are preparing to support students and staff when school opens on Monday morning. Counselors and support staff will be available at Uxbridge High School, and support will continue for as long as it is needed.
Principal Rubin and I will share updates if and when it is appropriate to do so. Later today, we will also send resources to help families talk with their children about loss and to recognize when a child may need additional support.
Please keep the family, our students, and our entire Uxbridge community in your thoughts.
With deepest sympathy,
Dave Ljungberg, Superintendent
Uxbridge Public Schools
